The New Deal Supremacy that formed the Washington consensus of 1932-1976 was built out of the blowout of the Great Depression. Maybe if Trump ushers in double-digit unemployment, 10% inflation, and a 40% stock market crash, we can form a new Washington consensus out of the abundance agenda. But without a collapse of MAGA, the two parties are deadlocked.
